I am a very easy-going gal who loves adventure. Education is one of my passions. I love to learn. I would be a professional student for the rest of my life if college wasn't so darn expensive. :) I want to master the game of golf, but haven't been successful yet....

Broken down on the side of the road (kind of)...

Sometimes in life I feel like I'm broken down on the side of the road, with no one to call for help. You begin to panic because nothing around you looks familiar, and the guys circling your car want to kidnap you, not help you.

Today, I (kind of) had that experience. After taking some of my stuff to my new school, I headed to a friends house. The AC was acting kind of weird. It wasn't as cold as it usually was. In this heat, it's pure misery if your AC isn't working properly. I began to think in my head that if it wasn't any better the next day that I would take it in to make sure I wasn't going to be without air. The farther I got down the road, I began to smell something. My hope was that it was the car next to me! About one mile from my friend's house, smoke starts coming out from underneath the hood. Now, I'm no expert in car mechanics, but my father taught me enough to know that:

smoke+engine= nothing good

I pulled over to the side of the road and began to panic. The first thought in my mind was call my dad to try to remedy the situation on my own. When we realized that it wasn't going to be fixed quickly, I called my friend to see if she could come get me. This heat is not something, anyone willingly chooses to be out in this time of year! Thankfully she came and let me stay at her house until another friend could come check it out and follow me home in case something happened.

When things in life don't go as planned I feel like God reminds me that no matter how much I want to plan out my day, life, etc., He sometimes has something else planned. I am super grateful for friends here that have gone out of their way to help me, and that God will never leave me broken down on the side of the road.
