Swimsuit to Cover Up the Insecurities
Today, I ventured out to do what every woman loves to do during the summer months, buy a swimming suit. Literally, I haven't purchased a swimming suit in 5 years. That is how much I hate shopping for suits. Once your suit starts to fall part and fade, it's probably time to either get rid of it or just avoid situations in which one would need a suit.
I would say that I am quite confident in who God made me to be, but today, not so much. I willingly admit that I don't have the body of a model or an athlete. My days of child modeling are long over (yes, as a young girl, I took modeling lessons and did some modeling...haha) and varsity cheerleading was my extent of sports involvement in high school. It's no surprise to anyone that today culture focuses more on what girls look like on the outside rather than the inside. This video really summed up how I felt the entire day.
I really love that commercial and its true-to-life message. The entire day I had remind myself that God has made me who I am (Psalm 139: 13-14) and that my confidence comes from Him, not from what the world says is beautiful.
