26 hours later
I am finally home. Yesterday was probably the longest day of my life. I woke up at 4 am in London (10:00 pm CST). Carrie and I were at Heathrow around 6:00 am. Our plane didn't even leave London until 10:15. While we were there we ran unto the Zauche's who were flying back to KS earlier that morning (Jenny wasn't with them, as she was flying out with us at a later time time). Our almost 8 hour flight from London to Chicago went well. I watched 3 movies and started to watch a 4th when I decided that I was tried of watching movies! When we were nearly to Chicago the pilot said that we had been put into a holding pattern and wouldn't be touching down for another hour and a half. Ugh...thankfully we landed about 30 mins. later. :) Everything went well in Chicago until we got ready to take off. It was very windy in Chicago yesterday so the planes were all backed up. We had to wait for 10 other planes to take off before we could leave. This put us in KC about an 20 mins. later than expected. My parents were waiting right outside the gate when I got off! It was so great to see them. After we left the airport we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner for my birthday. It was yummy! By the time we left I was so tired (I didn't sleep a wink on the plane). On our way home we had to stop by my grandparents to pick up Patches. My parents spent the night Thursday and left him there for the day. When we were almost there we heard on the radio that a funnel cloud had been sighted close to the road we take home from my grandparents. :( So...we hung out with my grandpa until the storm had passed. At midnight we pulled up to our house. I was SO tired by that time. It had been 26 hours since I last slept!
